Mission Statement
To equip Senior Citizens with the knowledge of the power of technology and the various ways in which it can enhance their lives.
It all began with my technology degree fueled by a deep passion for teaching. Surfing with Seniors is a non profit entity to help senior citizens (55 and older) learn to use various aspects of a computer. As the director of Surfing with Seniors, I take pride in personal attention and dedication to every detail of learning. My approach is rooted in education and research, ensuring that everything I do will reflect a commitment to ensure learning is taking place

I received my PhD in 2021 in Education with an emphasis on Educational Technology. My dissertation consisted of elements relating to integrating technology into STEM lessons. My desire at that time was to change the way elementary students were using technology in STEM lessons. I have since realized that I am able to make a major difference in the lives of many Senior Citizens by using what I have learned about technology. I now look forward to assisting as many senior citizens in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina as I can.
Surfing with Seniors
This entity began with a simple request from my mother Catherine Wiggins. "You can teach me how to use the computer". I was living in the midlands at the time but my mother was in the Pee Dee Area. I began to reach out to libraries to see who would let me use their computers to teach Seniors how to use them. Marion County, SC Library allowed me the use of their facility for 6 weeks. That changed a little over 8 Seniors' lives for the better. Now I am ready to make a major impact that could change many more lives for the better.
